Cursillo is a vibrant movement within our parish that helps Catholics deepen their faith and become more active in sharing the love of Christ with others. Originating in Spain in the 1940s, Cursillos de Cristiandad ("Short Courses in Christianity") has grown into a worldwide movement, inspiring countless individuals to live out their Christian vocation with renewed joy and commitment.
Cursillo begins with a three-day retreat designed to strengthen participants' relationship with Christ. Through prayer, inspiring talks, small-group discussions, and the celebration of the sacraments, participants encounter the love of God in a transformative way. However, Cursillo is more than just a retreat—it is a lifelong journey of faith.
After the initial retreat, Cursillistas (those who have completed a Cursillo) continue to grow spiritually through regular group reunions, ongoing formation, and support from the wider Cursillo community. This "Fourth Day" experience encourages participants to bring their renewed faith into their families, workplaces, and parish life.
At St. Bernardine of Siena Parish, our active Cursillo group welcomes new members who seek a deeper connection with Christ and a supportive faith community. If you are interested in learning more about Cursillo or would like to attend a retreat, we invite you to reach out to us.
